10 good reasons why to choose Slovenia for your wedding abroad destination

1.   It’s beautiful country which combines diverse landscapes on rather small area.

Slovenia lies in the heart of Europe, where the Alps meet the Mediterranean and the Pannonian Plain meets the Karst. You can have one eye on the sea, then look in the other direction and be surrounded by high mountains.

2. It lies in the heart of Europe and it is easy to reach.

Slovenia is a nation state in southern Central Europe at the crossroads of main European cultural and trade routes. It borders Italy to the west, Austria to the north, Croatia to the south and southeast, and Hungary to the northeast. Main and the only national airport has good connections with most of European airports. It can be also easily reached by highways from all neighbor countries.

Maybe you have always dreamed of getting married as Cinderella or Snow wife in fairy tale castle in the middle of pure nature. The climate of the Slovenia can be described as typical European continental influenced climate with warm, dry summers and fairly cold winters, while the coastal areas and the lowlands in the south have a mediterranean influenced climate.

Slovenia is a small country with only 2milion people. That’s probably the reason that nobody except that people who comes from abroad will know the language. So, when you’ll go to the shop or restaurant or even on the street, it’s normal that people will start to talk to you in English or in any other European language when they will realize that you are not Slovenian.

7. Services are provided on very high level, but the price is still reasonable. 
Life in Slovenia is not expensive for people who comes from abroad. Prices are very acceptable, although the services are provided on high level. That’s because services becoming more and more important part of Slovenian income. And people realized that only with good services, guests will coming back over and over again.  
 
8. Because it is still quite unknown country you can find many amazing, quiet places. In Slovenia you can find many still undiscovered, hidden places which will take your breath.

Consecration of the chapel at Bled Castle

I just came from Bled Castle where I’ve participated at re-consecration of the chapel.  And why am I telling you this? 

Because this is a big achievement for Bled itself and besides it’s also my personal victory. Last 73 years Castle chapel was closed for church ceremonies, also for church weddings. That was a big harm, because a romantic gothic chapel itself with its location at the very edge of castle rock represent solid foundation which should be a base for every marriage. 

Now, after so many years finally can serve its basic purpose again and that’s something that we can be proud on. If/When you will visit Bled, you’ll know what I’m talking about. 

Till then you can read Grimm’s Fairy Tales again and imagine that Snow White, Sleeping Beauty and princess from The Frog King once lived at Bled Castle. 

Why I have decided to write a blog about Weddings in Slovenia?

I have realized that many young couples from all over the world think of getting married abroad. But after this first though suddenly a lot of questions appear and the last one is where we will get the answers. 

I would like to help you on this stage to give you some useful information, share some news with you and listen your opinion, concern and suggestions about getting married abroad, especially in Slovenia.  

I will try to write about current affairs and give you some hints which will help you by your decision. 

Why I became a wedding planner?

First of all I would like to tell you something about myself. 

I live in Bled for whole my life and I’m very romantic person. I always thought that Bled is a perfect place for fairytale wedding. And since I remember it was my wish to be a part of this fairytale. 

My wedding was in home church of St. Martin and it was great. That was fourteen years ago and I still remember as it was yesterday. I got married with great guy and today we have two lovely kids. 

At that time I was at the beginning of my professional career and I didn’t have any business experience and not enough courage to start my own business. That’s why I spent 10+ years in international company. In all this years I meet a lot of people, travel a lot and see many nice places. But Bled remain the No. 1, the perfect place to visit and to get married. 

Last year I turned 40 and I decided it’s time for change and it’s time that my child dreams about my own business become true. Finally I do what I always want, that’s make people happy with helping them to create an unforgettable wedding day.
